Condensation is a big factor when you live in the South, and I've tried a dozen different types of thirstystone and other coasters that claimed to be absorbent. These are the first coasters I've found that actually deliver on that promise. They are not absolutely foolproof but they are far superior to all the stone/ceramic models I've tried. Also very attractive, modern, and it's nice that they come with a holder (unlike some more expensive, less absorbent coaster sets).

Look, they're coasters. They're not going to cure cancer or help the Cubs win a World Series. Their job is to sit under your glass, protect the surface underneath, and not look hideous while doing it. They do all of these exceptionally well. They're very absorbant (no standing liquid at all), reasonably handsome, seem pretty durable, and inexpensive. What more can you ask?

I used to use the stone coasters, but these absorb more water and look nicer, too. I bought a second set!

About the price of other coasters. Other nice options are photo coasters or sports ones, but if you want one that just looks classy and is nice, this is great. And comes in a stylish holding box. Very nice product - thank you to the makers.

I bought these a month ago and they are all starting to grow mold. I am going to have to buy plastic coasters or rubber. Nice looking, but not practical.
